Programme 7 – 8 November 2025

Guest interviews – Mike Royden and Rob Sawyer.

Features

A Remembrance Day focus, looking at the Fallen of Everton FC with two experts on the history of both wars, not just as Everton researchers, but encompassing a much wider field of study. Mike Royden has written several books on both wars, including Merseyside at War 1939-45, and has written and lectured widely on the First World War, as well as giving guided tours on the WW1 Battlefields of France and Belgium.

We are also joined by Rob Sawyer to hear about several of the Everton players who served in both both wars, but survived, including Bobby Parker who received a gunshot wound in WW1. Rob is also co-ordinating the present day project by EFCHS to restore his grave, and reported on progress so far.

Programme 6 – 31 October 2025

Guest interview Paul McParlan (Author, Member of Everton FC Heritage Society, EFCHS representative on the Fan Advisory Board).

Features

This week Paul McParlan takes us on a fascinating and entertaining journey on his life as a Blue, from his first game in November 1962, though the highs of the sixties, including the championships of 1962-63 and 1969-70, the FA Cup triumph of 1966, plus a thorough analysis of the World Cup at Goodison Park where he attended every game. We conclude with a look at our last league championship win of 1986-87, and Paul’s excellent study ‘The Forgotten Champions.’

This week we highlight some modern day history, as Everton Women become the first ever women to play at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Before the game, we were joined by captain Clare Wheeler, goalkeeper Emily Ramsey, and journalist & EFC stadium announcer Giulia Bould, to discuss the women’s move into Goodison Park, and how they felt ahead of a momentous occasion vs Manchester United Women.
