‘Wear, Frame, Bin’ – Lewis Royden on ToffeeTV

Lewis Royden of Everton FC Heritage Society appeared on the channel chatting to Ped (Peter McPartland) on their Wear, Frame, Bin programme, while also talking about the work of the Society, and the history of many of the shirts going back as far as St Domingo’s!

ToffeeTV description; Lewis Royden joins Toffee TV to analyse various football kits through the lens of Everton’s rich history. The discussion explores iconic designs from different eras, evaluating both modern replicas and historic jerseys based on their aesthetic details, cultural significance, and the personal criteria used to decide whether a shirt belongs in a frame or the bin.

Personal (Modern) Selection

Wear

A great 90s shirt without the sponsors and with an amber collar

Frame

1993-95 / Cup Final Shirt – signed by Dave Watson

Bin

Same design as the home shirt which was nice, but this away shirt was just too garish

Heritage Selection

Wear

St Domingo 1878-1880 – our first shirt

Frame

‘It’s the Black Watch Shirt 1881-82, it’s just beautiful’

Bin

‘Although we won the league in this (1890-91), does this scream Toffee Blues to you?’
Nice to see our Goodison Park Everton FC Heritage Society scarf among the collection!
