We present here a series of nine programmes; two films, an Everton Heritage Show guest appearance, and a six-part feature on Everton in the Sixties. All are filmed with the founder of Everton FC Heritage Society, Dr David France OBE, or ‘Dr Everton’ as he is known to many Blues’ fans.
The films cover much of Dr France’s life as an Everton fan, from his boyhood growing up in tough circumstances in Widnes, to his move to the United States and his successful time in the oil industry. All the while he remained a passionate Blue, and travelled two million miles to attend matches home and away. During the 1990s, he began to formulate ideas and initiatives to bring benefits to the club, players, and fans alike.
The films begin with what he is probably most well-known for; The Everton Collection, before a second programme on those very initiatives he introduced, and a third being an appearance on The Everton Heritage Show. The series concludes with in-depth episodes looking at what he considers to be the finest decade in Everton history – the Sixties.
